Happy Halloween!

Technically, it's already November here in Japan, as you can see by the date stamp of the post, but well, since Halloween has hardly begun in the States and it's still raging strong with foreigners here, I guess I can still say that, right?

Doesn't really matter since I've never been a huge Halloween person. Or a New Year's one, for that matter. They always just end up rather anti-climactic. And since I dress in costume for a living, and the level of construction can't even compare (especially with the elite tailoring here at Disney), I just can't be bothered. Especially in Japan.

So it's kind of silly that I happened to have tonight's late night rehearsal off since I was one of the few people who had no intention of going out. Not to mention that then means either a 5 AM train ride or 100 dollar cab ride home and lots and lots and lots and lots of smoke inhalation.

I mean, I went to the Hub for 15 minutes last night and I could feel the burn today. YUCK.

Instead, I wanted to hold true to my pizza and Hocus Pocus tradition that I created with Hodge, Hils, and Joe last year. Rockstars that we are, we decided it would be much more fun to go back to CoHo last year with some Domino's pizza and watch Hocus Pocus. And it was. Especially when CK snuck in and scared the crap out of us since we couldn't see him in the dark.

But, well, pizza's expensive, I'm broke (remember?), and 30 Rock's product placement of McDonald's in the episode I watched at work today was rather phenomenally executed. I definitely fell victim to the crave, and so Domino's was replaced by McDizzles. And it was delicious. And I had every intention of renting Hocus Pocus on iTunes, but then De-Lovely was on the movie channel so I was going to wait till 11, then my mom and Jordan called, and well now, big surprise, it's 2 AM.

So I'm gonna watch it at work tomorrow when it will still be Halloween night in the States. That counts, right? Especially since it doesn't really matter to the Japanese?

Good. I appreciate your approval.

I also finished crocheting my scarf today, and I'm hoping to bang out a pretty awesome hat to go with it! And maybe some wrist-warmers. Yes, I'm actually that cool and bored at work. Pictures to come when the set's complete!

So I've had a quiet night at home, which frankly, was a perfect Halloween. And one I hope to make a tradition of sorts. I mean, Kenny Ortega.... who knew?
